BurkeDoes Etsy Shop Review
Fall is the my absolute favorite time of year. The crisp air, apple everything, leaves changing, and the clothes. I’m not going to lie, bundling up in layers is one of my favorite things about Fall. Now that I have a little one, it’s even more fun finding cute clothes for him to wear. And while store-bought clothes and accessories are always nice, there’s just something special about putting him in an item that was handmade.
The booties in this post were provided by BurkeDoes in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own!
One thing I struggle with when it comes to baby clothes are shoes. The little man kicks out of his socks all the time and his poor feet get so cold! Maybe it’s a first-time mom thing but I have not figured out how to keep his little toes warm. And when you love going out for walks and Target runs keeping that sweet baby bundled up is definitely top priority!
When BurkeDoes joined our newborn nursery giveaway and gave a pair of booties to send to the winner and one for us to review, I quickly volunteered to test out the booties. Partly because I was the only one who had had my baby and partly because I wanted to see if they’d stay on the little man’s feet. If they did, great! If they didn’t, no big deal. Imagine my surprise when we got home after a rather long Target shopping spree and these booties were still on his feet. Try as he might they just would not come off. And since it was a little chilly out, I was grateful that he was warm and cozy as I paraded him through the store.
The one thing I really love about the booties is that they’re a bit tight at the top which is why they don’t slide off easily. While this is great it also means that once your babes feet get bigger these booties won’t fit anymore. So there is a bit of a limited window that they can wear them. Unless your kid is like mine and doesn’t grow very quickly. I mean, he’s seven weeks old and still in newborn clothing. I was the same way as a baby, so I’m praying he doesn’t get the short end of that height stick like I did.
These knitted booties from BurkeDoes are custom made for every order and can be adjusted to fit anyone’s wants or needs. They would be such a cute Christmas gift for friends expecting around the holiday’s this year! Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good handmade gift. For some reason I keep picturing them on the feet of a little one whose propped up by the Christmas tree. Oh the cuteness!
