If you’re planning a family vacation this year, these 15 reasons to celebrate at Disney World in 2018 are the perfect excuse to head to the parks!
Every year there’s something new at Disney World that Chris and I look forward to. This year there are so many new things coming to the parks and a few big milestones to celebrate at Disney World in 2018 that Chris and I can’t wait to visit during them!
The biggest thing we can’t wait for is Toy Story Land to open. We’ve been waiting so long for something new to come to Hollywood Studios and it’s finally (almost) here! Luckily there are a few other events and attractions to keep us occupied while we wait for the new land to open. And this list gives you 15 perfect excuses to head down to Florida this year!

15 Things You Should Celebrate at Disney World in 2018
Magic Kingdom
+ Disney’s After Hours Event Nights comes back to the Magic Kingdom from January to March (Jan 19, 26, 30, Feb 8, 15, and March 1 and 8). This is something I really want to do at some point because it’s open to a limited amount of guests which means shorter attraction lines and experiences!
+ Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be back this year! It’s one of our favorite things to do in the Fall at Disney because the parade and fireworks shows are the bomb(dot)com!
+ Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is back this year too. We go every year and it’s a fun way to get in the holiday spirit!
Hollywood Studios
+ STAR WARS: New props and models from The Last Jedi are on display at the Star Wars Launch Bay!
+ STAR WARS: There are now TWO NEW destinations; Crait and Batuu.
+ Toy Story Land opens this SUMMER! There will be two new attractions in the land too: Alien Swirling Saucers and the Slinky Dog Dash family coaster. Who else is super excited about this new addition to the park?
Epcot
+ The Festival of the Arts is running from January 12 to February 19th this year!
+ International Flower & Garden Festival is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year! The 90 day event runs from February 28th to May 28th this year.
+ International Food & Wine Festival comes back this year and if you are a foodie you NEED to visit Epcot during the event! There are global marketplaces, Eat to the Beat concert series, guest chef appearances, culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars, and so much more!
Disney Springs
+ Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire: This experience transports you into the Star Wars Universe. It allows you to walk through a multi-sensory experience where teams of four go undercover as stormtroopers to capture Imperial intelligence vital to the rebellion’s survival.
+ Dining: A total of eight new food and beverages make their debut this year! The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Enzo’s Hideaway and Pizza Ponte are scheduled to open in early 2018. And Terralina Crafted Italian, Wine Bar George, Jaleo and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will open later this year.
+ ESPN Wild World of Sports is expanding!
+ Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant! Chris and I have never done this but the festival features live music and Irish dance performances. Plus, FOOD!
Animal Kingdom
+ Animal Kingdom celebrates it’s 20th anniversary on Earth Day (April 22nd) this year!
+ If you love UP you will be so excited about the UP-inspired show that’s debuting this Spring! Russell and Dug will discover species of birds from around the world at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur Village.
