Soulmates Anniversary Card
Every year for our anniversary I try to make Chris a card. Last year I made three because I just couldn’t decide which one I liked best. This year though, he’s only getting one.
I found a Hobby Lobby about twenty minutes away from me and was so excited to go and look around. I found some great stamps and scrapbook paper that I knew would be perfect for the card I wanted to make Chris. Let’s just say that I am a Hobby Lobby lover now. Goodbye Joann’s and Michael’s, it was nice knowing you.
This card was incredibly easy to make. I bought the stamps and paper from Hobby Lobby but already had the ink and ribbon on hand. I’m always a little weary of combining different patterns because I don’t want the finished product to look too busy, but I’m incredibly happy that I took a chance with this card. Every pattern compliments each other and in a happy coincidence they also match our wedding colors!
The front of the card really reminds me of Springtime and is very vibrant in color. Because of that, I wanted the inside to be simple. When I saw the stamp with the birds and the stamp with the saying on it, I knew it was just what I was looking for to put on the inside of the card.
I really hope Chris likes it. And I hope he enjoys all the candy in his basket as well. I may have to eat one or two of his Cadbury eggs while he’s not looking, those are my favorites!
I love that you made him a card! What a sweet tradition. I love birds, too 🙂
Thank you, Madison! Making cards is definitely one of my favorite traditions on our anniversary. 🙂
I think this is adorable! Every year my fiance and I make a scrapbook to recount our favorite memories, but I love your handmade card idea. Every time we buy each other cards we end up writing our own messages inside. But the thought of creating a card that perfectly reflects our feelings is wonderful. I am going to try this 🙂
Thank you, Alicia! I love the idea of a scrapbook! I’ve done a few Shutterfly books but I stopped doing them after our wedding. I think that is such a sweet tradition though!
