Wood Burned Star Wars Utensils
Any fan of the franchise will love these wood burned Star Wars utensils!
I’ve been a fan of Star Wars for as long as I can remember. My dad and I used to watch the original movies together and he took me to Episodes 1-3 when they came out in theaters. He was the person who fueled my love of Sci-fi and Fantasy, and I’m really sad that he isn’t here to watch the new stories unfold with me.
I got really lucky though, because I married someone who is just as big (maybe bigger?) of a Star Wars fan as I am. Any time I can add a bit of our favorite fandoms into our home I get pretty giddy. And this latest project has me over the moon Death Star!
I’m the main cook in our home, but if there is a way I can get Chris to cook I’m going to try it. He’s been making dinner for me and the little guy more often recently, but any time I can get out of doing it I’m all for it! Making Star Wars utensils is my subtle way of getting Chris even more eager to use them while making a dish. I can’t wait to see how it plays out!
With Rouge One in theaters this weekend Chris and I have all things Star Wars on the brain. We have to wait until next week to see it but that doesn’t mean we aren’t celebrating the release with everyone else this weekend! I may have Chris make us his famous biscuits and gravy with the Star Wars utensils on Saturday, just because he can!

Want to make your own Star Wars utensils? It’s easy!
Materials:
- Silhouette Cameo
- Cardstock
- Wood Burning Tool
- Wooden Spoons and Spatulas
- Tape
- Pencil
+ Turn on and heat up your wood burning tool. It takes about 10 minutes for mine to heat up, but read the directions on yours to see what it says!
+ While your tool is heating up, cut out your designs with your Silhouette machine (I downloaded the designs from google and traced them in the Silhouette software).
+ Tape them to your wooden utensils and then trace the outlines of the design with your pencil. Remove the designs.
+ Trace over the pencil markings with your wood burning tool. GO SLOW. I tend to speed up when I get anxious and you can definitely tell if you look closely at my utensils.
PRO TIP: Don’t hold the tool too tight. It’s very hot and holding it tightly will cause your fingers to heat up fast!
+ Once you’re done use the eraser to get rid of the pencil markings.
Don’t forget to turn off your wood burning tool, that thing is hot and you do not want to leave it on!
I’ll admit that I am now completely obsessed with wood burning and I really want to use the tool on other projects! They even have different tips to help you make different designs, so I will definitely be checking them out at some point. The Star Wars utensils were the gateway craft, just like the movies were my gateway fandom. It’s only going to get more crazy and crafty from here!
What do you think of the Star Wars utensils? Would you use a wood burning tool to make your own?
