December Feature Spotlight: Be a Warrior Queen

This month I had the pleasure of meeting Rae from Be a Warrior Queen and having her sponsor the blog.  Rae is a Southern California girl who is super outgoing and a newlywed. I have loved getting to know her through her sponsorship this month and am so excited to introduce her to y’all!

Be a Warrior Queen started out as a movement among my high school friends and myself to remind ourselves to stay true to ourselves while dating. As we moved to our college years, it expanded into all aspects of our lives. I began to dream of starting a magazine for the movement – as more people began to believe in it, it seemed possible. Be a Warrior Queen, the blog, started to gain a following for my someday magazine. The first several years, few people read my blog. But in the past year and a half it has really exploded. I’m so excited for the new year and what it will bring for my blog. I am trying to transform it into something bigger, again and hopefully will launch that next week!

What are some things that have been inspiring you lately?

For the past few months I haven’t been feeling very inspired. I feel more like I was in survival mode from the chaos my family experienced in September. Now that I am starting to have more energy and more time, my inspiration is returning. I can find it anywhere – in the little girls who come into my restaurant and sassily stand up to the boys in their group; in podcasts like The Lively Show; and in bloggers who strive to live their life with intent. Intention has always been important to me, but I feel that I’ve lost a little bit of it,recently. Simple living is definitely inspiring me.

What are your favorite posts that you’d recommend for people visiting your site for the first time?

Do you have any fun Christmas traditions you’ve done this year?

This year, we haven’t been very Christmas-y. Things have been pretty crazy with my first trimester, working two jobs, my mom’s breast cancer and the like, so we haven’t done anything traditioned, yet. Every year since I was a baby, my father has bought us a “Christmas outfit” that is our only gift we can open on Christmas Eve. I love that my dad has now begun to include Iman in the tradition. So we all have a Christmas outfit. We are super excited to start new traditions with our baby next year!
