In just another week Chris will be headed off to school for another semester. As a kid, I always hated the first day of school: the stress, anxiety, and sheer panic of new teachers and friends were so not fun for me. Chris however, loves all that stuff. He gets so excited over the new classes and the people he meets, which is something I seriously don’t understand.
He even loves the homework (say what?!), even though he’s a master procrastinator. He usually grabs a bag of chips and some dip and sits down in front of his computer until he’s done, which can be anywhere between three and four in the morning! So I decided that this semester things are going to be different. I’m going to be prepared this time with a fun study break care package featuring yummy FROZEN grapes and a few other study essentials!
When I first met Chris I had never had frozen grapes before. They’re one of his favorite snacks and he was so excited to introduce them to me, and was even more thrilled when I ended up loving them too! Especially during the warmer months when I just want something sweet and cool to eat.
I knew that part of the study break care package had to have grapes in it if Chris was going to get excited about it. And when I saw the new FROZEN grapes at Wal-Mart, I knew I had a winner. I mean, we’re huge Disney fans and while Chris may not admit it out loud he loves FROZEN almost as much as I do. I may have caught him singing Fixer Upper the other night while on the computer (haha!). So I knew that if I combined the healthy snack with fun computer stuff (since that’s where he does all of his homework), he’d get excited about getting his study on. Well, as excited as you can get over writing papers!
As a fun way to motivate him on those long nights, I decided to make little FROZEN prints with funny messages for a late night snack session surprise. They can also be used for a before school snack on those days where he comes home after work and has to grab something to eat and then leave. Would your school-goers love these fun printables? They’re super easy to make and you can download your own here.
- FROZEN prints
- Colored Cardstock
- Ziploc bags
- FROZEN Grapes
Glue your FROZEN prints on top of your colored cardstock and then attach them to your Ziploc bags.
Fill them with the FROZEN grapes and then stick them in the freezer for a cold afternoon or late night snack! Seriously, how simple is that?
If you want to take it a step further, gather up a few things to motivate your school aged kiddo or a night schooler like Chris and have a little basket ready to go for them. For Chris I included a pen and notebook for jotting down ideas, a water bottle (you’ve got to stay hydrated!), and headphones to listen to music (noise canceling may be a good option here if your kids or spouse are easily distracted).
If you want to make a study break care package of your own, you can find your own FROZEN grapes in the produce aisle at Walmart!
