If there are two things I love to start my mornings with it’s coffee and some good old HGTV. If I can get up before my son I love starting the day with Flea Market Flip or a recorded episode of Fixer Upper, coffee and planner in hand, to get myself ready for the day. Most of the time I can’t get up before him (I am NOT an early riser) but I do tend to turn on HGTV when he’s down for a nap so I can listen to it in the background as I clean or work on my computer.
Chris loves to laugh at me because I have (like everyone else I know) become obsessed with Chip & Joanna Gaines and all things shiplap. I’d love to move down to Waco just to have them fix up a house for me. And I want Clint to build me a 12 foot table to set under a perfect pergola. Honestly, I’ve already gotten my dream house in mind I just need them to make it a reality!
Just like Joanna likes to “hoard” antiques I love to hoard coffee mugs. I have three full shelves dedicated to them, and while I probably didn’t need a new one so soon I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a few HGTV inspired mugs. I have to have something to use while watching my favorite shows!

They really are quite simple to make. You’ll need:
- 2 plain white coffee mugs
- Permanent vinyl (I buy mine here)
- Transfer Paper
- Silhouette Machine
- SVG files (download them here)
I made these mugs using the same method as my Harry Potter inspired mugs, it’s just so easy! Once you’ve got the hang of it you’ll be done in about five minutes. You really couldn’t ask for a more simply made craft project.
Also, has anyone else noticed how obsessed with all things coffee I am on the blog lately? If you would have asked me five years ago, I would’ve told you coffee was gross and I’d never have a love affair with it. Oh how wrong I was….
I’m so excited to sit back in the mornings with my new coffee mugs and favorite HGTV shows! Or, you know, just daydream about the perfect house in Waco while staring at my shiplap mug. All while convincing Chris that we need shiplap in whatever house we decide to buy.
Speaking of shiplap, did you know Lowes carries it now? A friend told me that the other night and I got the sudden urge to jump in the car and go pick some up.
Now that I’ve told you what my favorite shows are, tell me yours! Are you a Fixer Upper fan? Or is there another show you just can’t get enough of?
